Hand-Painted Mat for Linocut Prints

These hand-painted mattes are created using gouache paint and designed specifically to pair with my linocut prints. Each mat is painted by hand in one of several simple, thoughtful patterns, adding color, texture, and depth that elevates the finished piece.

Made to complement the artwork rather than compete with it, these mats allow collectors to purchase a print and mat combination that feels finished, intentional, and ready to frame. They’re an easy way to turn a favorite print into a more refined, gift-ready piece.

Because each mat is hand-painted, no two are exactly alike. Small variations in brushwork and color are part of the process and make each pairing unique.

Mat size: These mattes come in two sizes. The larger size is exterior of mat is 11x14, interior opening, 7.75x 9.75. These mattes fit a 11x14 frame and feature artwork that is either 8x10 or 9x12. For this size, choose 11x14. 

The smaller size is 8x10, fitting an 8x10 frame. The opening is just under 5x7, so it fits my 5x7 prints perfectly.
