About

Hi, I'm Anne, the lady behind the press at Little Monastery Press.

How it started

In 2025, I asked for linocut supplies for my birthday. I took a printmaking class in college and thought it would be fun to try again. I made a print, shared it on Instagram, and several friends wanted to buy it. So I made another, and more people wanted to buy it! I started an Etsy shop with two prints and a dream that making art would become a daily part of my life.

Why Little Monastery Press

Before I started LMP, I read Domestic Monastery, a book by Ronald Rolheiser. In it he tells a story about a monk who spent years in a monastery only to meet a mother who was just as spiritually mature, if not more, than he.

The mother had lived every day serving and loving her children, being transformed by the crucible of motherhood and domestic life. Her home was a domestic monastery—a place of deep formation, maturing, and spiritual growth.

That idea stayed with me, and Little Monastery Press was born. Because I want my life, my home, my creative practice, and my family to be a little monastery. A place of nonlinear sanctification, boundless creativity, deep love, and joy in it all.
